The James River Kennel Club is an American Kennel Club (AKC) member-club representing the Lynchburg, Virginia area including Bedford, Amherst, Appomattox, Nelson, Campbell and Pittsylvania counties.
JRKC members are active in conformation, obedience, agility, and field events, providing educational and training opportunities to members of the purebred dog fancy as well as educating the public about the sport of purebred dogs.

Pre-Entries must be received by Match Chair postmarked no later than September 22, 2009.
Registration day of match: 10:00 to 11:30 A.M.
Entries day of match: $10.00 ($6.00 each additional entry of same dog)
Canine Good Citizen $6.00 (no pre-entry) limited to 25 evaluations
Food and Drink available on site.
JUDGING SCHEDULE
Junior Showmanship: 12:00 Noon
Classes:
Pee Wee (under 6), Beginners (7–10), Juniors (11–14), Seniors (15–18). Best Junior.
Conformation: 1:00 PM
Puppies, Adults, Miscellaneous
Puppy Classes 3–6 months, 6–9 months, 9–12 months
Best Puppy and Best Adult
Dogs with major points may be shown for exhibition only.
Professional Handlers may only exhibit dogs that they own.
Obedience and Rally: 1:00 PM
Classes: Pre-novice, Novice, Graduate Novice, Open, Graduate Open and Utility
Classes may held be outside or inside as space/weather allows.
Dogs with titles may be shown in their titled class for exhibition only. Open to ALL DOGS — Pure breeds and mixed breeds
Rally:
Classes: Novice, Advanced & Excellent

Take 501 North or South to Coffee Road. Turn on Coffee Rd. Ruritan Club is approximately 3 miles on the right.
